ArtPrize is an annual public art competition that began in Grand Rapids in 2009. This year, ArtPrize features a record number of participants, with over 950 artists from 42 U.S. states and 53 countries displaying their work across more than 170 venues.

- Opening Celebration: The festivities kick off on September 13 with a spectacular Opening Celebration. Enjoy three parades through downtown Grand Rapids that converge at the Pearl Street Bridge. From 7 pm to 10 pm, revel in music, food trucks, and beverages, and witness a grand fireworks display over the Grand River. Join the parade at Fish Ladder Park, Monroe Skate Park, or the ArtPrize Clubhouse at 6:30 pm for an unforgettable start to the event.
- HalfTime Show: On September 20, visit Studio Park for the HalfTime show, where the top 100 vote-getters from the first week will be announced. This lively event features performances by The Pack Drumline and other entertainment, with voting continuing throughout the competition.
- Closing Ceremony: Celebrate the ArtPrize 2024 winners at the Closing Ceremony on September 28 at the historic Woodbridge N Ferris Building. The event will include food trucks, a cash bar, a dazzling light-and-laser show, and a spectacular circus performance.

Get Involved and Support a Good Cause
ArtPrize 2024 also offers a chance to support families affected by cancer. Contribute $10 to the FaceFunding website to include your picture in a digital mosaic exhibit and help fund grants for ArtPrize artists.
Voting and Awards
Engage in the democratic process by voting for your favorite artworks using the ArtPrize mobile app or at on-site locations. This year, public votes will determine awards in six categories, with no second round of voting. A panel of experts will also select winners for the Jury Grand Prize and visibility awards recognizing BIPOC, LGBTQ, and artists with disabilities. Over $600,000 in awards and grants will be distributed.
