Bryan Boersma enters the real estate industry with experience. Those who know him would describe him as a great “people person.” Bryan is well acquainted with the Holland, Zeeland, and Hudsonville communities as he has called each place ‘home’ at points in his life. Undoubtedly, his West Michigan connections run deep.
As a real estate agent he also has first-hand experiences of buying and selling several homes. In 2008, Bryan and his young family, were living on the west coast in Oak Harbor, WA on Whidbey Island. At the time, he was an Associate Pastor at First Reformed Church. That year they became first-time homebuyers, which was a thrilling experience. Their agent, Lanny Nienhuis, helped them in every way.
But after living so far from home for six years they seized an opportunity to move back to Michigan; closer to home and family. That was at the beginning of 2010 when the real estate market was at an all-time low. Their home value decreased to the point that it was better to lease and lose some money each month rather than sell it at a major financial loss. Bryan and his young family moved to Rockford, MI. There they found a cozy, 1400sq. foot home and waited for the housing market to recover.
Finally, in 2016 the real estate ice-jam gave way and the Boersmas were able to sell their Washington house. By that point, however, they were determined to reduce their expenses and sell it on their own (For Sale By Owner). But before the transaction closed, they had to replace the roof ($12,000+) and hire out work for major crawlspace repair ($4,000+). Knowing what Bryan now knows through his real estate agent training, he regrets not having asked their real estate agent to represent them in the sale of that house.
With a depth of knowledge about the unique aspects of the Holland, Zeeland, and Hudsonville communities and “being well-networked,” Bryan is a valuable real estate agent for both home buyers and sellers. He is skilled at listening to your needs and desires, and will strive to find for you the perfect home solution.
And, oh by the way…if you happen to be at a local high school or college basketball game during the winter months, you might also see him running up and down the court as a basketball official. This is a hobby he has pursed with true passion, dreaming of someday officiating at the NCAA Division 1 level.
